The tomb of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam is situated in central Multan and is the mausoleum of Sheikh Rukn-ud-Din Abul Fateh (1251–1335 AD), who was a prominent Sufi saint of the 14th century from Multan and was associated with the Suhrawardiyya Sufi order.

He was the grandson of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya. Sheikh Rukn-ud-Din Abul Fateh is known by the title Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam (Pillar of the World).

The tomb was built by the Tughluq ruler Ghiyas-ud-din of Delhi between 1320 and 1324 AD.

Although the tomb was built primarily with the intention of Ghiya-ud-din’s own mausoleum, later after his death, the tomb was presented to the family of the prominent Sufi saint.

The shrine of Shah Rukn-e-Alam is considered to be the earliest example of Tughluq heritage and is a prominent place to visit in Multan for travelers and tourists.
